Tara+Cameron - New York City, NY

The week of this session, it was gross and raining in New York everyday BUT, magically on the day we were supposed to shoot, the sun was shining allllll day and the temps were in the 70s. I mean, it was even a little too warm for this Texas girl to be walking in for miles. And miles. But, of course, during our 20 minute subway ride to get to Tara and Cameron’s apartment, the clouds rolled in and the temps dropped.

Do you know those people whose presence just leaves you feeling refreshed and joyful? Lydia and Abel are those people. Since Lydia is in grad school in Austin, I didn’t get to meet them in person until their engagement session but the moment that I got to hug their necks, I fell for these people. Hawrd. Their laughter is totally infectious and you can see how much they respect each other and honor their commitment. Life giving, right?

Lauren+Rob - Dallas, TX

Even though Lauren and Rob live in New York now, they wanted to pay homage to Lauren’s hometown in their engagement photos. Lauren grew up by White Rock Lake and Texas is SO dear to her heart (all you have to do is look at the necklace hanging around her neck to know that), so we wanted to use locations that were quintessentially Dallas. And what is more Dallas than the skyline?

Mallory+Cameron - Dallas, TX

I don’t really post black and white images. Go ahead, check my Instagram. They just aren’t there. And that it isn’t because I don’t deliver them - I definitely do. But I don’t believe every image was created to be B&W and I believe even fewer images are truly their most powerful when edited that way. But there was just something about Mallory and Cameron’s session that NEEDED black and white edits. It is like they were meant to be that way all along - before I ever took them.
